I feel that a good teacher is someone who can not only teach all the 'technical stuff' but someone who is inspiring, and instils confidence and above all else, makes singing enjoyable.
I design each student's lessons to his/ her individual requirements, tastes, and character. Together we set realistic goals and targets to work towards.
If a student wants to sit exams, that's great, and if student is just singing for pleasure, that's also great. Either way, with a bit of dedication the student will soon see their progress.
Teaching is a passion of mine .There is a great sense of satisfaction for the student and the teacher when progress is being made. There is nothing like the look of amazement and shock on someone's face when they sing out with their heart and soul for the first time, something they thought that they couldn't do. That makes teaching really worth it!
I teach in sessions of 8-12 lessons dependent on the time of year ( based loosely on the school term).
I usually suggest that the student and I meet for a consultation as part of the first lesson before entering into the session of lessons. This is a great opportunity for us to chat about your aims and the types of music you would like to sing etc, to get to know each other a little and to make sure that you feel I am the right teacher for you. I can also fill you in on the structure of the lessons.
My schedule is fairly flexible so I can cater for daytime or evening lessons.
